Rossini, Gioachino - Autograph Manuscripts (Various Options)

Fabulous autograph music quote from his aria 'Mi lagneró tacendo...', on a 4-page folio. Pages 1 and 4 are not written, and on page 2, Rossini writes 13 bars from the beginning of this aria for soprano and piano, with lyrics by Metastasio (from his work 'Siroe'). On page 3, Rossini inscribes this music quote to Louise Damcke (1827-1897), a German pianist also known as Louise Van Fegyne or Feguine, and wife of noted German composer Berthold Damcke (1812-1875), who was also conductor and educator. Rossini dates his autograph in Paris on March 20th, 1858.

Autograph note signed by the composer as 'Rossini' with a short sentiment, used as an envelope addressed to composer Jacques Offenbach (misspelled by Rossini as 'Offenback'). Size is 8.1 x 10.4 inches, folds, in excellent condition.

Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by him, no year indicated (ca. 1834) sent to the politician and later Italian Prime Minister Marco Minghetti, about personal issues and invitations. Size is 7.75 x 9.4 inches, 1 written page in 1 folded sheet, in excellent condition.

Beautiful autograph letter in Italian signed by him, dated November 21st, 1849, where he recommends J.P. Goldberg as a Bel Canto teacher. Size is 7.8 x 7.9 inches, folds, minor stains, otherwise in excellent condition.

Transcription and Translation into English are ALSO INCLUDED. According to the eminent Rossini scholar Philip Gossett 'this would be the only letter by one of the great 3 'bel canto' masters (Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini) to actually use (and write) the term bel canto.

An 8-bar music quote on a beautifully decorated album page from his 'Ave Maria'. Size is 10.4 x 6.8 inches, minor stains, in very good condition.

A very interesting autograph letter in Italian signed by Rossini, dated 1862, addressed to the famous singer Enrico Tamberlik, where the composer uses friendly and hilarious language, apparently requesting Tamberlik to attend to a certain event on his behalf. Size is 6.75 x 8.5 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), folds, minor cracks over the right border, in overall very good condition.

ALSO INCLUDED are a translation into English and a modern print photograph of the composer (size is 4.5 x 6.7 inches).

Autograph letter in Italian (untranslated) signed by him and dated in Paris, September 19, 1843, sent to baron Eugenio Lebon informing him about his upcoming visit to Bologna and wishing to see him there, and other personal stuff. Size is 8.1 x 10.2 inches 1 written page, folds, minor rust stains, in overall very good condition.

Ink marking at the bottom was made by a different hand.
