Grandson of Queen Victoria (1869-1931), via princess Helena and prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein. Fantastic collection of 3 autographed letters in English signed by the Duke with his pseudonym "Peter", addressed to the American actress Edna Goodrich; 2 typed letters addressed to Edna Goodrich signed by Ernest Wallach (probably the Duke's friend) dated in 1928 and 1931, the latter informing about the Duke's final illness and death in Berlin; plus an official carbon-copy of the Duke's last will and a small card by Wills Cigarrettes with an image of the Duke. Autograph letters' size is 5.25 x 7 inches each, Typed letters' size ar 8.4 x 11.5 inches (1931), and 6.8 x 8.75 inches (1928); last will's size is 8.4 x 11.5 inches.  7 items in total, in very good condition. French politician (1884-1966) who served as President of France between 1947-1954. Fine photo postcard mounted on larger hard cardboard signed by Mr. Auriol on the cardboard.  Total size is 4.5 x 6.9 inches, minor stains, pinholes over the top border, otherwise in excellent condition.

American politician (1925-2014), diplomat, and photographer who served as a U.S. senator from 1967 to 1985. Fine black-and-white photograph signed by him, shown young. Size is 8 x 9.8 inches, in excellent condition.

English politician (1848-1930) and former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and also later Secretary of Foreign Affairs who issued the Balfour Declaration in 1917, allowing Jews to establish in Israel.  Beautifully signed cabinet photograph of him by London Stereoscopy Co.  Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in very good condition. Royal Navy admiral (1766-1844) and conservative member of the British parliament. Autograph letter signed by him, to a lady called Lina Brydges, dated on January 28, 1840.  Size is 7.25 x 9 inches, 2 pages written on a folded sheet, folds, in overall very good condition.

French military (1753-1815), Marshall of the Empire who served during the Revolutionary and Napoleonic wars; twice Minister of War (1799-1807) and Chief Staff to Napoleon I. Fantastic set of 7 documents in French (sold untranslated), handwritten by another hand and signed by Berthier as Minister of War.  All 7 documents are 2-pages each, each page is 7.8 x 12.3 inches, folds, in excellent condition.

British politician (b.1953) who served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1997 to 2007. Rawlings Official Major League baseball signed by him. The approximate diameter is 3.25 inches.  ALSO INCLUDES  a certificate of Authenticity by JSA (James Spence)

American combat pilot (1912-1988) and fighter in the World War II. Black-and-white photograph signed by him. Size is 10 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

Former first lady of the United States (1925-2018) from 1989 to 1993 as the wife of President George H.W. Bush. Fine color photograph signed and inscribed by her with a short sentiment. French politician, mathematician, and physicist (1753-1823), known as the Organizer of Victory in the French revolutionary wars, Minister of War in 1800. Document written by another hand and signed by Lazare Carnot as "Carnot" while Minister of War in 1800. Each page is 8.5 x 13 inches, 3 pages, folds, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a second document with Carnot's signature stamped on page 2, also dated in 1800. Each page's size is 7.1 x 9.5 inches, folds, in excellent condition. Fantastic double signed photo depicting the opening day of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, appearing also Ronald Reagan, Gerald Ford and Lyndon B. Johnson as well as their corresponding wives.  Size is 10 x 8 inches, in excellent condition

Cuban political leader (1926-2016), a communist revolutionary who ruled the country for nearly 40 years and a world political figure, his brother Raul Castro Ruz (b.1931) is, since 2011, the First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba. Certificate or diploma given as "Individual Emulation", to the best worker of the Cuban Workers Central in the category of auxiliary, 1978. Boldly signed at the bottom by both Castro brothers. Size is 8 x 10 inches, minor damage over the lower right corner and a couple of ink stains, otherwise in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a funny photograph of Fidel Castro holding a newspaper and a cigar, a modern copy/print, sized 7 x 9 inches, in excellent condition.

British politician and writer (1874-1965), Prime Minister of the UK during most of WWII (1940-45) and again after the war (1951-55). Fabulous, large size, original photograph by Vivienne, London, signed by Churchill below and over the photographer´s mat, who dated his signature in 1950. Also signed by photographer Vivienne in white ink, over the photo, and ink stamped by photographer on verso. Total mat size is 14.8 x 18.25 inches, actual photograph is mounted on it and its size is 11.75 x 14.7 inches. Minor silvering on photo borders, some minor scratches over mat, general and very even rust toning, overall in excellent condition. One of the most impressive and large signed images we have seen of the famous leader, in a photograph signed as well by the photographer. Rare!

British politician and writer (1874-1965), Prime Minister of the UK during most of WWII (1940-45) and again after the war (1951-55). Fine original photograph, signed by him, showing him receiving a plaque from the Lions Club in 1956. The photo is mounted on a hard cardboard mat. The full story of how this photo was taken and signed is on verso, together with the names of those depicted on it. See scan of printed document, which is attached to the mat´s verso. Size is 9.9 x 8 inches (photograph), mounted on hard cardboard mat to a total size of 10.8 x 8.9 inches, in excellent condition.

American politician (1872-1933) who served as the 30th president of the United States from 1923 to 1929. Typed letter with the letterhead of the State House in Boston signed by him, providing a copy of his speeches, dated January 11, 1919. Size is 7.3 x 10.3 inches, folds, otherwise in very good condition.

Grandson of Louis XIV of France and his mistress Madame de Montespan, known from birth as the Duke of Penthièvre (1725-1793). Document signed by the duc of Penthièvre, dated “Paris le 14 Fevrier 1738”. The Duc, who succeeded the Count of Toulouse (d. 1737) when just 12 years old, certifies that  "... François Léon Hirt was in the house [of my father].. for fourteen years as master of his music, and that he has fulfilled its duties with applause and to the satisfaction of his master..." etc. Interesting document for the history of music in France in the century of Bach and Mozart. Nice seal at the bottom of the page. Size is 8.2 x 12.7 inches, 1 page, folds, smudges, creases, in good condition (see scan provided).

French nobleman (1798-1881), duke of Cambaceres, French senator, and politician. Set of 2 autograph letters in French (sold untranslated) signed by him, one of them is dated in Paris, 1873.  Each one is 5.25 x 8 inches in size approximately, 4 pages each one, folds, in excellent condition. French journalist and politician (1820-1892) and Prefect of national defense during the French-German war of 1870. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris, March 11, 1882, where he addresses a gentleman, thanking him for having sent him his “chanson patriotique”: “…deux poëtes et un musicien seront ainsi pour composer cette oeuvre remarquable. Je félicite la trinité de consacrer ses efforts à répondre dans le peuple des sentiments élevés. Il n’y a pas de plus beau rôle…”. Size is 7.6 x 9.2 inches, 1 page, folds, creases, dirt stains, in overall very good condition.

French cardinal (1768-1851). Autograph letter handwritten in French by another hand (sold untranslated) signed by De la Tour, dated in 1842.  Size is 8.25 x 10.6 inches, 1 page, folds, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a printed invitation to a funeral, dated 1842. Size is 8.1 x 10.5 inches, folds, in excellent condition.

Belgian Countess (1873-1937) whose full name was Geneviève de Liedekerke de Pailhe. Beautiful signed cabinet photograph with bold handwriting and signature. Photo by Fabronius, Brussels. Size is 5.25 x 8.5 inches, slight paper loss on top left and other corners not affecting image and signature, attractive vintage item in very good condition.

French deputy (1816-1897). Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris, January 19, 1864, addressed to the Prefect, asking for two invitations for a Bal at the Hôtel de Ville for “…Madame et Mademoiselle de Bruillard…”.  Size is 7.7 x 9.9 inches, 1 page, letterhead "Corps Legislatif", folds, some creases, in overall very good condition.

American politician (1780-1865). Clip from the bottom of a document mounted on a larger piece of paper with his signature below the signature of Thomas Cope, dated August 24, 1832. Total size is 8.5 x 3 inches, in very good condition.

French General (1753-1837), during his years of service, fought in the French revolutionary wars, the American revolutionary war, and the Napoleonic wars. Autograph letter in French (sold untranslated) signed by Dumas and addressed to Louis-Alexandre Berthier as Minister of War, dated in Naples, April 1st, 1806. Size is 8.25 x 12.75 inches, 2 pages, a missing piece of paper over the upper-left corner, folds, otherwise in excellent condition. Set of 2 documents from Ministry of War written in French (sold untranslated) by another hand and signed by Dumas, dated February and April 1810. One of them is 1-page while the second is 2-pages long, each page is 8 x 12.25 inches approximately, in excellent condition. SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATELY.

American politician (1890-1969) was the Assistant and then United States Secretary of the Navy, and also served as the 42nd Governor of New Jersey, commonly known as "Lord Edison", he was a son of the famous inventor Thomas Edison.  Signed photograph, inscribed, bold handwriting and signature. Size is 8 x 10 inches, some light silvering to dark portions and a few surface marks, otherwise in excellent condition. 

King of England (Edward VII) (1894-1972), who only reigned for 11 months in 1936, abdicated to the throne becoming the Duke of Windsor, in order to marry American socialite Wallis (Simpson) Windsor (1896-1986). Card signed by both Edward as the Duke of Windsor, and Wallis Windsor, with a photo of them. . Card is 5.4 x 3.5 inches, has tape residues on all 4 corners, in very good condition.

King of the United Kingdom (1841-1910) from 1901 until his death in 1910.Queen of the United Kingdom (1844-1925) from 1901 to 1910 as the wife of King-Emperor Edward VII. Beautiful black-and-white photograph signed by Alexandra only (for both of them), dated 1910. Size is 10 x 11.9 inches, some signs of mat burn over the borders, otherwise in excellent condition.  

French general and military theorist (1851-1929), who was the Supreme Commander of Allied Forces in World War I.  Typed letter with his letterhead, signed by the general in black fountain pen ink, written in French (sold untranslated), dated March 16th, 1921.  Size is 5.1 x 8.1 inches, 2 pages, central fold, in excellent condition.

American politician (1913-2006) who served as the 38th president of the United States from 1974 to 1977. Sports Illustrated magazine issued on July 8th, 1974, signed by him on the front cover. Size is 8.25 x 10.8 inches, full magazine with all pages and covers, in excellent condition.

Spanish military general (1892-1975) who ruled Spain from 1939 to 1975 as a dictator, assuming the title Caudillo. Gorgeous black-and-white photograph mounted on a photographer mat signed and inscribed by him in Madrid (1946) to the Argentine poet Juan Alfonso Carrizo.  Total size is 10.75 x 10.25 inches, photo is 6.7 x 8.75 inches, minor stains, silvering around borders, otherwise in very good condition. Photo is enclosed in a luxurious hard cardboard folder for protection (not shown).

Spanish pioneer of aviation (1896-1938), and brother of the Spanish dictator Francisco Franco. Large gorgeous sepia photograph signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment, dated in Buenos Aires, March 11, 1926. Size is 9 x 10.9 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned sepia photograph of him mounted on a mat, ink-stamped on verso by Cooperativa Fotográfica, Buenos Aires. Total size is 9.75 x 13.5 inches, some cracks on the mat, photo in excellent condition.

French general and statesman who led the French Resistance during WWII, later let the government (1944-46). Typed letter signed, dated in 1952, giving condolences to the wife of a recently passed friend. Letter is in one page, 8.25 x 10.5 inches, with his letterhead, comes with an unsigned photo, a modern print, 8 x 10 inches.

British statesman (1809-1898). Autograph note signed by him and dated 1846 mounted on a larger piece of paper. Total size is 4.8 x 6.2 inches, 1 page, minor stains, folds, otherwise in excellent condition.

American astronaut (1921-2016), aviator and engineer who later became a U.S. Senator from Ohio and candidate for the U.S. presidency. In 1962, Glenn was the first American to orbit the earth. Signed photograph, showing him in his Senate office. Bold handwriting and signature by Glenn, inscribed. Stamped on verso by photographer John Jay Daly. Size is 7.75 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition.

French socialité (1876-?), one of the courtesans who had the most influence on the Press and politics of her time.  Autograph letter in French signed twice by her, dated July 19, 1877, was sent to a lady about her father's funeral. Size is 5.1 x 8 inches, three written pages in one folded sheet, some loss of paper in page 3. ALSO INCLUDED is a short note addressed to a certain Mr. Le Ferrièrre, saying "so, I'm counting on you tomorrow, Tuesday"

American first lady (1860-1924) during the period 1921-1923 and wife of President Warren G. Harding.    Beautiful postcard depicting The White House signed by her with a short sentiment, mounted on hard cardboard.  Size is 6.5 x 4 inches, small dots of rust, mat burn over the right border, otherwise in excellent condition.

King of Jordan (1935-1999) who reigned between 1952 and 1999.  Beautiful black and white photograph signed by him, shown young; stamped on verso by photographer Studio Angelo (photographer of H.M. King Hussein), dated in 1953.  Size is 3.5 x 5.2 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a color photograph of Queen Noor of Jordan (b.1951) signed by her, dated in 1990.  Size is 7.9 x 10 inches, color is a bit faded but in excellent condition.

Isabella I (1451-1504), Queen of Castile for the period 1474-1504, reigned over unified Spain with her husband Ferdinand II of Aragon- both are known today as the Catholic Monarchs. Among her most important achievements, they conquered back all of Spain from the Arabs, forced the expulsion of Muslims and Jews from Spain, and financially sponsored Christopher Columbus's 1492 voyage that will result in the discovery of the Americas for the old world!. Rare signed letter, dated in 1483, a very important year for the Spanish Inquisition since that was the year Torquemada was named the Great Inquisitor. The letter is addressed to a nobleman named Sancho de Vergara and mentions a meeting of the Queen with a knight, who will bring him a message. Letter was written by the Queen´s secretary, and signed by the Queen as "Yo, La Reina" ("I, the Queen"). Sold with 3 separate pages that include a full translation and transcription from old Spanish, plus a full description. Letter is 8.6 x 6 inches, folds, minor stains, in excellent condition.
