ROH Covent Garden - Silk Program Gala Performance 1889

Silk program for a gala performance at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in honor of the visit of the Persian Shah Naser al-Din to The United Kingdom on July 2, 1889, with the presence of Queen Victoria.

The program included the performance of complete acts from Faust and Mefistofele, plus some short scenes from other operas, featuring artists such as Edouard and Jean De Reszke, Nelli Melba, Emma Albani, Sophia Scalchi, Lillian Nordica, and others.
