Star soprano (1843-1919), probably the greatest of the second half of the 19th Century.

Original portrait of her, hand painted, attributed on verso to Scottish-American painter William Russell Smith (1812-1896), with the date 1889. No signature, but verso inscriptions match very well some typical verso inscriptions found in paintings by him (see HERE). We believe this could be an authentic painting by William Russell Smith and not by any members of his family or someone else.

Framed, total size is 19.1 x 23.25 inches (total), actual painting is 14.6 x 18.75 inches (visible window size). Frame has some damage on borders and should be replaced, painting is in great condition, not examined outside the frame.

Returns & Exchanges

Unsatisfactory items may be returned within 14 days of receipt for your choice of a store credit or a full refund. In order to qualify for a refund, items must first be returned in the exact same condition they were shipped. By default we ship via USPS, and provide the option to ship via FedEx or UPS. Shipping and handling costs are not refundable for any items that were already shipped, either returned or not. At our discretion, a restocking and relisting fee of up to USD 40 could be applied for some returned items, although this is very rarely applied.
