Interesting autograph letter signed, dated in Florence in 1850, to famous actress Adelaide Ristori-Capranica, Marquise del Grillo (1822-1906). Grisi discusses recent performances, a bit of politics (mentions current freedom of speech), and some personal issues. Terrific letter. Four pages, in Italian, sold with both transcription and translation, each page is 5.4 x 8.1 inches, storage holes and spotted rust, but in overall very good condition.

ALSO INCLUDED is a hand-made color portrait of Grisi, made by A. Bianchini, 4.5 x 6.25 inches, with a cover that shows an ovalized opening.
