Austrian painter (b.1942). Fine color photograph signed by him. Size is 9.75 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

Russian painter, and scene costume designer (1866-1924), famous for his work for Diaghilev's Ballet Russes. Card from the first and limited edition of the book "L'Ouvre de Leon Bakst pour La Belle au Bois Dormant" (1922) signed by him and by the French publisher Maurice De Brunoff (1861-1937).  Size is 9.25 x 6.75 inches, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is a half-tone photograph where he appears, plus composer Igor Stravinsky, and painter Mikhail Larionov).

French painter (1813-1905). Autograph letter in French signed by him, dated 1845, addressed to Edmond Audran about very personal matters. Size is 3 x 4.2 inches, two written pages in one sheet, in very good condition.

French architect (1845-1919), mostly known for having conceived the Théâtre National de l'Opéra-Comique. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) on the two sides of a card signed by him, dated May 22, [1911], where he addresses a gentleman, concerning the first performance of Debussy's "Martyre de Saint Sébastien" at Théâtre du Chatelet: "...J'avait été décidé hier (...) que la répétition général du "Martyre de S. Sébastien" serait purement et simplement supprimé en raison de la catastrophe d'Issy. Les protestations du public furent si violentes que cette répétitions réservée alors à la presse seule, eût lieu devant 2000 spectateurs....". Size is 475 x 3.6 inches, in very good condition. The "catastrophe d'Issy-les-Moulineaux" was an airplane accident during the 1911 Paris-Madrid air race that injured several public figures such as the War Minister Maurice Berteaux, President Ernest Monis, and Henry Deutsch de la Meurthe. 

French artist (1822-1899), best known as a painter of animals, though also made sculptures in a realist style. Autograph letter in French signed by her, dated in Paris, July 17, 1856, to a client who commissioned a painting, stating "... I have received your painting (...) not wishing to delay any longer to give you news of your painting, I have decided to send you this letter in The Hague. The lithographer has already begun his work...". Size is 5.2 x 8 inches on each page, 3 written pages in one folded sheet, creases, glue traces, folds, some stains, in overall very good condition.

Colombian artist (b.1932), and sculptor. Black-and-white photograph of his painting "Der Brief", signed by the artist and dated 1992.  Size is 5.8 x 4.1 inches, in excellent condition.

Austrian painter (b.1938), and also a performance artist, experimental filmmaker, and writer. Photograph of himself signed by him as part of his artwork "Self Mutilation". Size is 7.9 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition.

American stained glass artist (1887-1974) whose works are part of the Cathedral of St. John the Divine and The Riverside Church in New York and in St. Peter and St. Paul Cathedral in Washington, D.C.  Larger size mat with photo, signed by him and dated in 1934 on a photographer mat.  Total size is 8 x 11.7 inches, minor water stains on lower right corner, otherwise in excellent condition.

Russian-French artist (1887-1985), associated with several major artistic styles. Signed color photo print, showing one of the 12 famous stained-glass windows at the Synagogue at the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center in the Judaean Hills. This one corresponds to "Tribe of Reuben". Hand signed by Chagall in black crayon over the top right! The size is 9.75 x 12.1 inches, with minor folds and creases over corners. This color print may be part of the Jerusalem Windows issue made in Paris, but we are not certain.  

French painter (1823-1906) and scenic designer, particularly known for his work at the Paris Opera. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated December 26, 1864, to a gentleman as secretary of the Académie Impériale des Sciences, Belles lettres & Arts de Savoie, as follows: “…J’ai l’honneur de vous annoncer que l’académie Impériale de Savoie vous a reçu au nombre des membres correspondants…”.  Size is 8.3 x 10.5 inches, central fold, creases, letterhead, in overall very good condition.

Bulgarian-born environmental artist (1935-2020), his full name is Christo Vladimirov Yavachev. Christo is famous for his works with his now deceased wife Jeanne-Claude and his own. Signed book "The Umbrellas" about the joint project for Japan and USA which led to an exhibition in June-July 1989. Published by the Guy Pieters Gallery, Belgium. Christo signs on the title page of this bilingual (in English and Japanese) book full of pictures. Size is 9.75 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition. Also included is a separate, 2-page printout that explains about the project.

Spanish painter (1904-1989), a very famous surrealist artist, his full name was Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech. Full booklet/catalog for an exhibition of his works in the Gallery of Modern Art including the Huntington Hartford Collection, December 18th, 1965 through February 28th, 1966. A total of 160 numbered pages plus soft covers, with many illustrations in color and black and white. Dali signed with a blue felt tip pen on a blank page opposite to the title page. See scan. Size is 8.5 x 10.9 inches, rust over edges of front and back covers, in excellent condition inside.

Spanish painter (1904-1989), a very famous surrealist artist, his full name was Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech.   Restaurant "Laurent" napkin folded in four, clearly signed by the painter.  Signed personally to a fan during the 1970s at "Laurent" Restaurant which was one of his favorites and visited regularly in New York City.  Folded size is 5 x 5 inches, minor rust spots, in very good condition.  

Spanish painter (1904-1989), a very famous surrealist artist, his full name was Salvador Domingo Felipe Jacinto Dalí i Domènech. Very rare, gorgeous signed photograph with a surrealist image of him, including a small drawing made by him over the image and connected to his signature.  Size is 9.4 x 7.1 inches, stamped on verso by photographer Diego Segura, Barcelona, in excellent condition. Signed photos of Dali with his image are rare, and this is the best one we have ever seen.

American animator (1901-1966), entrepreneur, and film producer. A pioneer in the American animation industry, Fine black-and-white photograph signed by him, shown young. Size is 8 x 10.1 inches, some smudge over the beginning of the world "Walt"; sticker authentication on verso by an unidentified company; otherwise in excellent condition.

Russian artist (1849-1916), engraver on copper, a graphic artist, and etcher - his artwork is today sought-after by art collectors. Signed cabinet photo, 3.75 x 6 inches, dated by him in 1890. Mounting traces on verso and on 2 borders, otherwise in good condition. Rare.

German painter (1891-1976) and sculptor. Fine black-and-white photograph signed by him (most likely a press photo). Size is 6.9 x 7.1 inches, mounting traces on verso, otherwise in excellent condition.

French painter (1843-1920). Note written in French (untranslated) by another hand, dated August 1920, and signed by the painter with a drawing of him (which probably is by his hand). Size is 4.9 x 3.5 inches, in very good condition.

American sculptor and educator (1892-1984). Beautiful black-and-white photograph signed by him with a blue bold tip pen. Size is 8.1 x 9.9 inches, mounting traces on verso, in very good condition.

American animator (1906-1995), cartoonist, producer & composer, creator of the Looney Toons and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons and also one of the creators of "the Pink Panther". Signed card with a drawing of the Pink Panther face made by him. Size is 4 x 3.75 inches, irregular top and bottom borders, in excellent condition.

A beautiful collection of 7 autograph letters, each one signed by a different French painter, as follows: Antoine Auguste Ernest Herbert (1817-1898) a 4-page autograph letter; Antoine Leon Morel (1810-1871) a 1-page autograph letter; Godefroy Durand (1832-1896) a 2-page autograph letter, including his resumé; Jean-Baptiste Isabey (1767-1855) a 1-page autograph letter, including an English translation; Jean-Joseph Bellel (1816-1898) 3-page autograph letter, dated in Paris, 1875; Piat Joseph Sauvage (1744-1818) a 1-page autograph letter, dated 1817; and Pierre Edouard Frere (1819-1886) a 2-page autograph letter, dated 1872. American cartoonist (1883-1970), sculptor, author, engineer and inventor. He is best known for his popular cartoons depicting complicated gadgets performing simple tasks in indirect, convoluted ways. Original cartoon on a card, inscribed, with a short sentiment and dated by him in 1959. Size is 4.25 x 3.1 inches, in excellent condition.

American comic book artist (1932-2014), best known for his work with Archie comics. Original hand drawing of Archie cartoon in pencil, signed by him with felt tip pen, dated in 1994. Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, in excellent condition.

Swiss painter (1852-1942). Autograph letter in French (sold untranslated) signed by him, dated 1911. Size is 11.2 x 8.3 inches, 1 page, central fold, in very good condition.

Swiss painter (1852-1942). Large-sized photograph of him mounted on a mat where the painter signed and inscribed it with a short sentiment; a photo by Emile Goz (Lausane). Total size is 9.6 x 12.75 inches, some cracks over the top loss of paper over the four corners, crease over the left border, in overall very good condition.

German painter (1821-1895), who, at the peak of his fame, was charged for abuse of an underage model, causing a major scandal in Berlin. Autograph letter signed by him, in German (sold untranslated), dated in 1885 (the year of the scandal).  Size is 3.8 x 6 inches, 3 pages in one sheet, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is his personal card handwritten by him, initialized on verso in pencil, as well as a postcard signed and inscribed by him on verso.

American sculptor (b.1929).  Pamphlet for an exhibition in 1976 at Venture, CA, USA, signed and inscribed by him.  Size is 8.5 x 11 inches, central fold, in very good condition.

French collector (1836-1918), industrialist, founder of the Guimet Museum. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated April 27, 1900, addressed to Mr. Daudelais, sending his greetings and rejecting again a proposition. Size is 5.5 x 8.1 inches, 1 page, in very good condition. The original envelope is ALSO INCLUDED.  

Moldovan-born Israeli painter (1898-1980), sculptor, and author. Card reproducing one of his paintings signed by him. Open size is 5.8 x 9.3 inches, in excellent condition.

Famous English painter (1810-1890), most notable as a precursor of pre-Raphaelitism.  Original pencil drawing of star French-born mezzo-soprano Maria Malibran (1808-1836), one of the greatest singers in her time, who died at age 28. Malibran is shown in La Sonnambula (Bellini´s opera, premiered in 1831) one of her most successful roles. Drawing is 5.3 x 7.75 inches, and is in excellent condition. It is mounted on light cardboard, presented on a luxurious dark blue suede mat that is 12.1 x 14.3 inches in total, and can be easily removed if desired.  

English artist (1854-1914). Original hand-made drawing of a woman in a chair dated March 20, 1884, made by him on the back of an invitation from one of his exhibits. Size is 4.4 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.

American caricaturist (1903-2003), best known for his black and white portraits of celebrities and Broadway stars. Original etching of "My Fair Lady" signed by the artist with a pencil over the lower-right corner. Size is 22.25 x 15 inches, rolled, numbered #65 out of 150, in very good condition.

Limited edition lithograph, published in 1984, with a creation by famous caricaturist Al Hirschfeld (1903-2003), featuring famous artists (see below) who performed at the Shubert Theater in New York. Only 250 copies were made and numbered, this is copy Nr. 65 and is signed by Hirschfeld on the lower right corner in pencil. Size is 21.5 x 28.2 inches, minor creases and spots, but in overall excellent condition. See scan. A TOTAL of 24 ARTISTS ARE DEPICTED: Katharine Hepburn, Fred Astaire, Bob Hope, Clark Gable, Jason Robards, Al Jolson, Groucho, Harpo and Chico Marx, Jimmy Durante, Ed Wynn, Carol Channing, Mary Martin, Eddie Cantor, Lillian Gish, Ethel Merman, Rex Harrison, Julie Andrews, Fred Allen, Ethel Waters, Alfred Drake, Helen Hayes, Lynn Fontanne, Alfred Hunt.  Also included is a certificate of authenticity signed by George J. Goodstadt, Inc. Publishers (who Hirschfeld had a long standing relationship with) indicating that this copy (Nr. 65) is authentic, from a total of 250.

German engraver (1844-1912) who developed a career mostly in Finland.  Beautiful photo postcard portrait-style shown as himself, signed by him, and also ink-stamped and hand-written on verso by him.  Size is 3.3 x 5.25 inches, in excellent condition.

American cartoonist (1922-2011) most notable for his work on the newspaper comic The Family Circus. Clip from "The Detroit News" (1984) signed and inscribed by him with a black pen. Size is 13.3 x 8.2 inches, folds, in excellent condition.

Belgian sculptor (1862-1931) and medallist. Fine black-and-white photo postcard of his sculpture "Mother and Child"  signed by him over the lower-right corner, with a short autograph note in French also signed by him on verso. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition.

American cartoonist, animator and producer (1899-1994), creator of the character "Woody Woodpecker". Signed photo shown with all his characters. Size is 4.9 x 7 inches, in excellent condition, with a sticker certifying its authenticity by Beckett Authentication Services.

Autograph letter signed to a friend and autograph collector about personal matters with a fine and signed cartoon at the bottom, dated in 1909. 1 page, size is 4.4 x 7 inches, in excellent condition.

Beautiful half-tone black-and-white photograph signed by him, shown in front of comic magazines.
