Famous Theaters of the World (Various Vintage Prints)

Original 1808 hand-colored print showing the interior of thee Covent Garden Theatre in London, precursor of the Royal Opera House. Published in 1808 by R. Ackermann, London, design by Pugin & Rowlandson. Beautifully matted and ready to frame, visible size is 10.5 x 8.75 inches, total print size is 13 x 10.4 inches, can be easily removed from mat if desired. This image is famous and has been widely reproduced with modern techniques - We are offering the original print from 1808 - Some mat burn that is hidden by the mat, otherwise in excellent condition.

Vintage litograph showing Teatro La Fenice, circa mid-1800s, a painting is shown on stage, an entry for the theater curtain (sipario) by Italian painter Giovanni Busato (1806-1886). Size is 11.75 x 8.25 inches (visible window size), nicely matted to a total size of 16 x 12.75 inches, in excellent condition.

Late XIX century chromalith print showing the Metropolitan Opera building (1883-1966) and the image of the famous German soprano Amalie Materna who was the creator of the role of Brünnhilde at Bayreuth Festspiele, mated to a total size of 9 x 12 inches (actual print is 5.5 x 7.5 inches - visible window size), in excellent condition.

Print of the latter Grand Theatre de Lyon which replaced the former one which was destroyed by a fire. Original etching after Forest-Fleury, printed by J. Saillard, Lyon. Size is 12 x 9.1 inches, some rust stains and aging over edges, in excellent condition.

Beautifully handcolored litograph from ca.1865 depicting the Grand Theatre of Warsaw, matted to a total size of 13.7 x 11.75 inches (actual print is 6.9 x 4.7 inches -visible window size), pencil writings over top corners and rust stains on the mat, in very good condition.

Hand colored copper-plated engraving depicting the inside of the original Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, before the fire of September 20th, 1808. Print mounted on a mat of 15 x 17.5 inches, with an opening of 10 x 12.5 inches, some rust stains, otherwise in very good condition.

Vintage print of the Theatre Anvers, mounted on a mat. Colorized lithograph by DeWarme-Pletickx, Brussels, from the XIX century. Total size is 16.4 x 13.2 inches, actual print is 11.6 x 8.6 inches (visible window size), rust tone on edges, otherwise in very good condition. Mat can be easily removed.
