Estimating autograph value requires a good deal of expertise and some work, and it should never be determined by surfing online and looking at the asking prices of similar items that have never sold. This practice not only is highly inaccurate, but normally produces a very wide, confusing spectrum of prices and reflects values of what no one has paid, and are, in consequence, not real nor reliable in any sense.
So here we offer you some help: our Autograph Appraisal Letter, a short report (1 page) with the value of your autograph piece, based on recent past / realized prices of similar items.
Backing our report are 18 years of experience and professional dealer work with autographs and 1-2 hours of work doing research. This can not be given away for free, but is offered here at a bargain price.
The report will include an estimated value or narrow range of value for your item and those of similar items used for comparison, assuming your item is original and authentic. If your item is framed, we will not include the value of the frame nor the estimated value of any other collectible/s included in the frame.
- Performing arts (music, film actors and actresses, directors, dancers), literature, science, and historical figures. Absolutely no sports autographs.
- Sending your autograph item is not needed, but at least 2 high-quality digital images of your autograph will be necessary.
We will contact you to submit them, or you can do it yourself directly by emailing us images of your item (you can find our email address under "Company Info", at the bottom of this page).
- This report provides an estimated value according to our highly qualified expertise and historical price database. It does not validate the authenticity of the submitted item, since that requires in-person analysis. We currently do not provide that service for items we do not buy or sell.
