Auber, Daniel - Autograph Manuscripts (Various Options)

Autograph letter signed by him, dated in Paris on January 31st, 1849, to the director of an opera house, on letterhead from the Conservatoire National de Musique et Declamation, Paris. Letter is in French, and is sold untranslated. Auber respectfully asks to borrow a few accessories only to be found in this person´s theater, for an upcoming performance of La Gazza Ladra (La Pie Voleuse, in French) by students of the Conservatoire. Auber mentions that in the past, a previous director has agreed to help. One page, sized 5 x 8 inches, in excellent condition.

ALSO INCLUDED is a vintage print of the composer, sized 9.25 x 12.5 inches (actual image is 7.5 x 5.75 inches), a perfect companion to the letter if framed together. See photos.

Autograph letter in Frech signed by him, addressed to a certain gentleman: 'Here I am at the accompaniment of Mademoiselle Doulx's aria. I beg her to lend it to me...'. Size is 3.1 x 6.2 inches, 1 page, overall rust stain, glue traces at the bottom, otherwise in very good condition.

Large autograph document with notes (no date specified but ca.1850) by the French composer where he lists writes numbers along with the names of pupils who are trying or have tried to get into the woodwind instruments class at the Conservatoire for the year 1849-50. Doodles by the composer along the page marges. Size is 9 x 14.3 inches, 3 written pages, folds, markings, smudges, in good condition.

Autograph note in French (sold untranslated) signed by him probably addressed to the Director of the theater (Leduc) requesting some extra boxes at the theater. Size is 4.25 x 6.7 inches, rust stains over the left border, in overall good condition.
