Spanish violinist (1883-1971) and composer, having excelled in both.  Printed score of Paganini's Caprice XXIV signed by the Spanish violinist on the first page with a short music quote from his symphonic poem "Nova Catalonia".  Full score with all pages and covers, size is 9.4 x 12.25 inches, repaired banding, in very good condition.

American singer-songwriter (b.1943). Autograph score facsimile (printed) for the lyrics and music of his own song "One Voice" boldly hand signed by him at the end of the score.  Size is 6.4 x 10.9 inches, 2 pages, in excellent condition.

Italian composer (1831-1902) whose works focused mostly on opera and song. Autograph music quote with 6 bars from Act 1 of his famous opera "Ruy Blas".  Size is 7.25 x 4.8 inches, 1 page with the letterhead of the Regia Accademia di Santa Cecilia, mounting traces on verso, in excellent condition.

Italian opera composer (1831-1902).    Autograph music quote on an album page, with 5 bars from his opera Romeo e Giulietta (premiered in 1865), signed and dated by him in Rome, 1886.  Size is 8.25 x 5.3 inches, very even age-toning, in excellent condition.

French composer (1842-1924), mostly known for his operas and other vocal music.  Autograph music quote on a small print with his image, with 4 bars from his opera "Daphnis et Chloé", signed and dated by him in Paris, 1909.  Size is 7.1 x 9 inches, minor damage on corners, scattered rust stains, in overall very good condition.

Italian opera composer (1863-1945), mostly remembered today for his operas "Cavalleria Rusticana" and "L'Amico Fritz" among other creations. Autograph music quote on an album page signed by the composer with 4 bars from his opera "Iris", dated in Palermo in 1920.  Size is 4.75 x 6.75 inches, in excellent condition. Also included: 1 unsigned postcard photograph of the composer, 3.25 x 5.25 inches, small crease on top right, otherwise in excellent condition. Not sold separately. 

Italian opera composer (1863-1945), mostly remembered today for Cavalleria Rusticana and L'Amico Fritz, among other creations. A fine clip (a piece from a page from the printed score of his opera Nerone) signed and inscribed by him and dated 1936. Size is 8.8 x 4.8 inches, right border irregularly cut, otherwise in excellent condition.

Italian composer and pianist (1841-1914), and conductor - created operas, ballet, popular songs, and piano pieces.  3-bar autograph music quote on an album page from an unknown piece signed and inscribed by the composer with a short sentiment dated in London 1895. Size is 7 x 6.2 inches, few cracks and creases over the top, in overall very good condition.

English-born composer and organist (1879-1973), who lived in America most of his life. Printed score of his work "The Song of America, a Historical Pageant for Mixed Voices with Orchestra or Piano", signed and inscribed by him on the cover, with a short sentiment. Ninety-six pages, sized 6.75 x 10.5 inches, in very good condition.

German composer (1882-1964).  Autograph music quote on a card, with a typed sentiment, signed by the composer in 1930, with 4 bars of music from an unknown piece; ink-stamped on verso with his name.  Size is 5.75 x 4.2 inches, ink stains over the upper-left corner, in very good condition.

Scottish composer (1847-1935), principal of The Royal Academy of Music from 1887 to 1924. Fine photo postcard signed by him with a short sentiment, dated in 1906, plus a 3-bar music quote from "Benedictus" also signed by him.  Size is 3.3 x 5.4 inches, in excellent condition.

Belgian composer (1784-1851) and horn player, Director of music at the Paris Opera between 1867 and 1870. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him, dated June 17, 1842, addressed to the Belgian composer Joseph Daussoigne-Méhul (1790-1875), concerning a music work: “…pour le coup je ne sais ce que ton silence signifie, si ce que nous t’avons envoyé n’est pas bien, tu devrais nous le dire. J’ai vu ici cahou, il attend lui même ce qu’il doit graver; ses presses, ses ouvriers, tout cela attend, il ne sait a quoi attribuer tout ce grand retard…”. Size is 7 x 9.1 inches, 1 written page, folds, creases, with letter head of "Conservatoire de Musique de Gand", missing piece of paper over the left margin, in overall good condition.

American composer and pianist (b.1949). Printed score for the song "A Whole New World", from Disney's film "Aladdin" (1992), signed by Menken on the front cover. Size is  9 x 12 inches, 8 pages, in excellent condition.

American composer (1923-1983), teacher, and administrator. Lengthy autograph 5-bar music quote from his Symphony #7 (composed in 1963, published in 1967) signed by him at the bottom with a quote and dated July 13, 1981. Size is 8.3 x 11 inches, 1 page, in excellent condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned half-tone photograph of the composer (probably a clip from a magazine or book) with his facsimiled (printed) signature.  Size is 3.3 x 4.4 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian-American composer and librettist (1911-2007), who created several popular operas. Autograph note on a postcard with his letterhead signed by him, no date (postal markings indicate the year 1948), with a short message to a friend. Size is 5.4 x 3.3 inches, minor stains, in excellent condition.

German opera composer (1791-1864) who has been described as perhaps the most successful stage composer of the XIX century, best remembered for his operas Le Prophéte, L'Africaine, Dinorah, Les Huguenots, and Robert Le Diable. Autograph letter written in German (untranslated) and signed by Meyerbeer's wife Minna Meyerbeer. size is 5.3 x 7.5 inches, 3 written pages, in very good condition. ALSO INCLUDED is an unsigned carte-de-visite CDV of the composer plus a lithograph of him by Lemercier (Paris).

French composer (1892-1974), conductor, and teacher; member of Les Six and one of the most prolific composers of the 20th century. Album page signed by him with a short sentiment dated 1929. Size is 7.8 x 5.9 inches, in very good condition.

Spanish composer (1869-1921), musicologist, music critic, and diplomat. Set of three very fine autograph letters in Italian (untranslated) signed by him, as follows:  A. N.D. commenting on different projects and performances of beloved works. 3 pp. In-8. With letterhead. B. Dated September 22, 1896, about some readings he has done of articles, jokes, and others appearing in the newspaper "Lega Lombarda". 2 pp. 1⁄2. In-8. With letterhead. C. Dated in Roma, June 29, 1897, criticizing the quality of music he listened to while being in Rome. Different sizes, lengths, and conditions (see scans provided for details). American composer (1893-1969), educator, and author, who composed music for theater, film, ballet and orchestra, best known for his folk opera "The Ballad of Baby Doe" (1956). Autograph music quote with 4 bars from his orchestral suite "The Pageant of P.T. Barnum" (1924), signed and inscribed by him, dated in 1945.  Size is 8.9 x 3.6 inches, in excellent condition.

American composer (1893-1969), author of the opera "The Ballad of Baby Doe". Typed letter in English signed by him, dated January 31, 1944, to fellow composer John Edmonds: «...We forwarded to you last week the salvaged volume of your songs. Madame [Maria] Maximovitch [Russian soprano] thinks you are very unwise to take it away from her (...) However I gave her the "Faucon" (...) I think you have one of the finest gifts of songwriting that I have ever encountered and I think you will not only gain in confidence but will have tremendous success as the songs are gradually discovered...». Italian composer and conductor (1858-1941), especially of opera, whose most famous work was done in the period 1890-1920, both in Europe and South America.  Autograph music quote on an album page with 8 bars of his work "Lontano - Pensiero Melodico per Cello e Pianoforte" (1890), signed, inscribed, and dated by him in 1916.  Size is 8 x 4.7 inches, central fold, wrinkles, otherwise in very good condition.

Alsatian composer (1841-1890) who worked mainly in Leipzig, whose most important work was the opera "Der Trumpeter von Säckingen". Autograph letter signed by him, dated in Strasbourg 31/12/1884, to his music publisher agent concerning international publishing royalties. Open size is 10.4 x 8.1 inches, 2 written pages in one folded sheet, tape residues over the top, in overall very good condition. Original envelope is INCLUDED.

Alsatian composer (1841-1890) who worked mainly in Leipzig, whose most important work was the opera "Der Trumpeter von Säckingen". 3-bar autograph music quote from his opera "Der Trumpeter von Säckingen" (1884) signed and inscribed by him to Mr. Josef Häfliger. Size is 7.3 x 3.3 inches, overall rust stains, in overall very good condition.

German composer (1829-?) and organist. Autograph letter in French (untranslated) signed by him. Size is 5.3 x 8.2 inches, in excellent condition.

Franco-Maltese composer (1773-1818) who created many popular operas for the Opera Comique. Rare autograph letter signed, no date, in French, untranslated, to playwright and critic François-Benoît Hoffman (1760-1828). One page, 4.7 x 7.1 inches, folds, in very good condition. 

Danish composer (b.1932) and music theorist. Printed score for his Symphony #3 in two movements signed by him on the first page and inscribed to fellow composer Chris Rouse with a long sentiment. Size is 13.75 x 19.7 inches, 131 pages, soft covers, in very good condition.

English composer (1883-1950), known for his song cycles.  Autograph music quote on a small pink album page, signed by him with 4 bars of one of his songs, dated in 1939.  Size is 5.6 x 3.4 inches, cut corners, in excellent condition.

Italian composer (1865-1922), creator of several successful operas including Cecilia, Chopin and others. Autograph letter signed in Milan, 1905, to Arturo Melli about his opera Chopin, in Italian; 4 pages in folio. Each page has a size of 5.25 x 8.25 inches, in excellent condition. Italian composer (1796-1867), best known for his around 70 stage works including many operas in a light style. Autograph letter signed, dated in 1838, written in Italian  (sold untranslated), 1 page. Size is 5.25 x 8.4 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian opera composer (1771-1839), his career focused mostly on operas and oratorios. Autograph letter signed, handwritten in French, sold untranslated. One page, sized 4.75 x 7.5 inches, in very good condition.

Polish composer (1914-1991) and conductor, who later became a British citizen. Typed letter signed by him addressed to American composer Christopher Rouse, dated June 1987, matted together with a photograph of him. Total size is 8 x 10.4 inches, in excellent condition.

French composer (1860-1934). Autograph letter in French (sold untranslated) signed by him, dated in Paris, May 9, 1895, where he addresses a gentleman: “…J’ai enfin eu des nouvelles de organisateurs des Concours de Nangis – 2 Juin prochain – pourrez vous venir avec nous comme membre du Jury? J’écris en même temps à Clerice…”. Size is 5.5 x 8.4 inches, 1 written page, creases, letterhead "Garde Republicaine", in overall very good condition. ALSO INCLUDD is a photo postcard of the cornetist and conductor of the “Musique de la Garde Républicaine” Guillaume Balay (1871-1943).

Italian composer (1853-1913) and music editor. Autograph manuscript with the Italian translation of Brahms' German Requiem made for the first Italian performance in 1898. Size is 8.6 x 12.5 inches approx., 4 pages, overall rust stains, some smudges and corrections over the text, in overall very good condition.

American composer (1910-1988), educator, and music scholar. Autograph music quote with three bars from his work "Excursions" signed by him on an envelope on April 5, 1970.   Size is 6.5 x 3.75 inches, in excellent condition.

American author (1791-1852), poet, and actor, best remembered for providing the lyrics for the song "Home! Sweet home!" (1822).  Fine clip (probably the bottom of a longer autograph letter signed by him) with some autograph handwriting and his signature. Size is 7.8 x 2.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian composer (1878-1964), who retired at eighty-five, five years before his death.  Autograph bifold letter signed by him, written in Italian (sold untranslated), dated in Marostica, Italy, 1922.  Size is 5.5 x 7.6 inches, 1 page, central fold, in excellent condition.

Austrian composer (1876-1939), chorus master, and church musician, his output comprised mostly religious music. Autograph music quote on a card with 3 bars from his work "Weihnacht im Bergdorf" signed by him with light green ink.  Size is 3.9 x 2.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Polish composer (1933-2020) whose best-known works include Threnody to the Victims of Hiroshima, Symphony No.3, his St Luke's Passion, Polish Requiem, and others. Autograph music quote on an album page signed and dated by him in 1969 with an additional signature of the great German soprano Elisabeth Schwarzkopf on verso.  Size is 4.5 x 5 inches, in excellent condition. 

Finnish composer (1893-1977), who was also a music critic, creator of chamber music, concerts, and orchestral works. Typed letter signed, written in German (sold untranslated), dated in 1951. One page with his own letterhead, sized 8.75 x 11.25 inches, some folds, storage holes, and minor cracks, otherwise in very good condition.
