American conductor and violinist (1916-1999), considered one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century.   Signed album page, dated in 1941. Also included: two signatures on verso, of both Ettore Panizza, Argentinian conductor and composer (1875-1967), and Maria Barrientos, Spanish Soprano (1884-1946), also dated in 1941. Size is 6 x 7.75 inches, very slight rust at the top left of the verso page, otherwise in excellent condition. 

Italian conductor (1881-1953), pianist, and founder of the San Francisco Opera.  Signed photo shown young, inscribed and dated in 1925; also signed in white ink on front by photographer Fifler, San Francisco,  Size is 7.6 x 9.75 inches, in excellent condition.

German conductor (b.1957), principal conductor of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. Signed photo, 5 x 7 inches

Fine photo postcard signed by him, with a long text written by him in German on verso, dated in Nassau, 1912.  Size is 3.4 x 5.4 inches, in excellent condition. Handwritten note translates "The greatness in a musician, like Beethoven, lies not in his music, but in his humanity, and enormous inner wealth which is able to transform in musical sound and thus bring enjoyment to his fellow men.  December 1912, Nassau."

French conductor (b. 1962), specially known for his interpretations of French Baroque works. Signed photo, size is 4 x 6 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian conductor (1880-1952) with an important international career mostly focused in symphonic music. Large signed portrait, inscribed and dated in New York in 1931. Size is 10.6 x 14 inches, minor loss of paper over lower right corner, otherwise in very good condition.

Small autograph lot consisting of 2 autograph letters, signed and dated by him in 1965 and 1966, 3 autograph notes signed, on the back of his business card, and 2 autograph notes signed, on greeting cards. All in Italian, sold untranslated, letters are each in one page, 8.5 x 11 inches, personal cards are each 4 x 2.5 inches, and greeting cards are 5.75 x 6.75 inches each, all in very good condition.

French-American conductor (1875-1964), who enjoyed a successful international career conducting first-rate orchestras around the world for more than half a century. Set of 2 autograph letters in French (sold untranslated) signed by the conductor, dated in December 1954 and February 1955; both letters with the letterhead of the bar The Town House, New York. Letter dated 1954 is addressed to the Russian tenor Joseph Rogatchewsky when he was the director of Theatre de La Monnaie in Brussels (1953-1959). Letter dated 1954 is 3 pages long, letter dated 1955 is 1 page long. Both letters are 5.9 x 9.3 inches in size; both in excellent condition. SOLD TOGETHER, NOT SOLD SEPARATED.

French-American conductor (1875-1964), considered a specialist in French music, and well-known as a teacher. Fine album page signed by him. Size is 5.6 x 3.8 inches, storage holes, in very good condition.

German conductor (1902-1958), particularly associated with the German repertoire and Mozart. Signed photo, stamped on verso by photographer Fayer, Vienna. Size is 3.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition.

French conductor (b.1973). Beautiful half-tone color photograph (probably from a program) signed and inscribed by him with a short sentiment. Size is 5.25 x 3,7 inches, in excellent condition.

Celebrated Austrian conductor (1856-1911), also composer and later teacher. A specialist in Wagner´s music, Mottl assisted Richter in preparing the first run of the complete Ring cycle in the first Bayreuth Festival in 1876. Autograph note signed and dated by him in 1906, on a medium size cardboard card with the letterhead from the Royal Theater of Bavaria, in German, sold untranslated. Size is 6.5 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition

German-born conductor (1859-1940) who based his career principally in Europe and mostly in opera. Fine photo postcard signed by him with a short 5-bar music quote dated 1898. Size is 5.5 x 3.6 inches, in excellent condition.

Autograph letter in Italian signed by him, dated in Pisa,1897, to a friend:  "... Yesterday evening I returned from Venice, where I attended the premiere of Nemea by [Ernesto] Coop, our dear friend, and I can assure you that the success was splendid. Yesterday I passed through Florence, where I found your dear letter – I am writing at once to Ferdinando on the subject – he hoped that through you we could have the internal place for Arturo – I am sure that you will have done everything in your power to favor me, so let it be from this moment on that I am obliged to pay with you the seven and fifty lire per month that are necessary (if in doing this you will see that it will be possible to profit by and I thank you sincerely for the great kindness shown to me on this and other occasions..." Size is 5.2 x 8.1 inches, 2 written pages in one sheet (front and back), spotted rust stains, central fold, creases, in overall very good condition.

Italian composer and conductor (1858-1941), especially of opera, whose most famous work was done in the period 1890-1920, both in Europe and South America.  Autograph music quote on an album page with 8 bars of his work "Lontano - Pensiero Melodico per Cello e Pianoforte" (1890), signed, inscribed, and dated by him in 1916.  Size is 8 x 4.7 inches, central fold, wrinkles, otherwise in very good condition.

Italian composer and conductor (1858-1941), especially of opera, whose most famous work was done in 1890-1920, both in Europe and South America. Beautiful colorized photo postcard signed by him, dated August 30, 1905. Size is 3.4 x 5.4 inches, minor silvering, in very good condition.

German conductor (1834-1908), who was also composer, cantor and educator. Autograph music quote signed, with 4 bars from an unknown piece, dated in Weimar, 1902. Size is 4 x 5.5 inches, in excellent condition.

Star Italian conductor (b.1941) and conductor of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and famous French actor (b.1948), active in the Film industry since 1965. Double signed photo shown in rehearsal. Size is 8 x 10 inches, in excellent condition.

Italian composer and conductor (1821-1890), lifelong friend and only student of Giuseppe Verdi. Muzio toured extensively as a conductor, giving first performances of several Verdi operas in France and in the USA. In the early 1870s, Muzio became the conductor of the Theatre Italien in Paris, which was experiencing financial difficulties (referred in the present letter) that led to its closure later in the decade. Autograph letter to an unidentified impresario (probably the director of the Theatre Italien in Paris, signed by him. Muzio writes in length about an upcoming tour featuring Verdi´s Messa da Requiem, expresses concern about an apparent lack of organization, rehearsal time, and choristers of the tour´s inception in Brussels. He relays Mr and Mrs Verdi´s recommendations about the Italian Theatre in Paris, a performance of the Requiem in Versailles, and a costume designer. In French, sold with a transcription and a translation, dated in Milan in 1875. Six pages in folio format, each one is 4.4 x 6.9 inches, in very good condition.

American conductor (b.1951) and opera administrator, currently Music Director of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra since 2006, and General Music Director of the Hamburg State Opera since 2015.  Larger size color photograph signed by him, shown in performance.  Size is 8.25 x 11.7 inches, in excellent condition.

Famous Czech-born conductor and composer (1839-1916), Napravnik settled in Russia and conducted the world premiere of operas by many famous composers (Mussorgsky, five operas of each Tchaikovsky and Rimsky-Korsakov, etc).  Nice Russian mini-cabinet photo signed by him on verso, where he dated in 1894. Size is 2.5 x 4.25 inches, back is in excellent condition, front has minor wear and rust stains but is in very good condition. Very rare!

Hungarian conductor (1855-1922), considered an outstanding interpreter of the music of Bruckner, Tchaikovsky, Beethoven, Liszt, and Brahms. Original vintage cabinet photograph of the conductor by J.C. Schaarwachter (Berlin) boldly signed by Nikisch at the bottom; blind stamp over the lower-right corner indicates the year 1896. Size is 4.25 x 6.5 inches, some rust stains and rust coloration at the top, in overall very good condition.

Signed photograph, inscribed, with a short sentiment in German, dated in Vienna in July 1921, shortly before his death. Inscribed to singer Michael Bohnen, for his beloved performance of Hans Sachs in Meistersinger.  Size is 6.4 x 9.6 inches, minor stains, in very good condition.
